When someone you love is struggling, you don't have to figure this out alone
Watching addiction or a mental health crisis take over someone you love is one of the hardest things a family goes through. Our Los Angeles team will help you understand the options and take the first real step.
We know what this has been like for you
By the time most families call us, they have already tried everything they could think of. You are not failing them by asking for help. You are doing the one thing that actually changes how this goes.
The worry that never shuts off
The late-night phone checks, the bracing every time they walk in the door. We hear this from nearly every parent and partner who calls.
Not knowing what to say
You are scared of pushing them away, and just as scared of saying nothing. We will help you find the words and the right moment.
Carrying it mostly alone
Friends do not always understand, and you are tired of explaining. You can hand part of this weight to a team that does this every day.
A clear path forward, with people who pick up the phone
Golden State Rehab is a private outpatient center in West Los Angeles. Here is what working with us actually looks like for a family.
A direct line, not a call center
When you call, you reach our admissions team in Los Angeles. Real people who will listen first and answer your questions honestly.
We handle the insurance
We verify your loved one's coverage and walk you through what it means, so cost is one less thing keeping you up at night.
They stay close to home
Outpatient care means your loved one keeps living their life, holding a job or staying in school, while getting real treatment.
Treatment for the whole picture
Addiction rarely travels alone. We treat the substance use and the depression, anxiety, or trauma underneath it together.
What happens after you reach out
No pressure, no commitment on the first call. Just a conversation about your situation and what the options are.
You tell us what is going on
Call or send a message. We listen to what you are dealing with and answer your questions about treatment, timing, and cost.
We check coverage and build a plan
We verify insurance the same day and our clinical team shapes a plan around your loved one's needs and daily life.
We help you start the conversation
If they are not ready yet, that is normal. We will coach you on how to approach it and be ready when they say yes.
One more thing while you wait for them to say yes: if opioids or fentanyl are part of the picture, carry naloxone (Narcan) — we will show you how to use it. Naloxone is a nasal spray that can reverse an overdose, and it is available without a prescription. The CDC's guide to naloxone explains how it works and where to get it.
A calm, comfortable place to heal
This is where your loved one will spend their time with us. Warm, private, and built for real clinical work, not a sterile hospital ward.

Real clinical care that fits around a real life
Our programs run during the day or evening so your loved one can keep their responsibilities while they recover. Everything is evidence-based and led by a licensed clinical team.
Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Structured treatment with the intensity matched to where your loved one is right now.
Telehealth across California
For days when getting to the center is hard, care can continue securely from home.
Individual and group therapy
One-on-one work with a therapist, plus the support of people walking the same road.
Medication for opioid & fentanyl addiction
Our medical team offers proven medication like Suboxone (buprenorphine), started with careful, fentanyl-aware protocols. See how fentanyl treatment works.
Your first call, minute by minute
Not knowing what will happen on the phone stops a lot of families from calling. So here is exactly how it goes.
A person answers, not a call center
Your call goes to our admissions team here in Los Angeles. Day or night, a real person picks up and listens first.
We ask four simple things
Their age, what they are using, their insurance if you know it, and how you are related to them. No names required.
It takes about 15 minutes
Most first calls run about 15 minutes. You will hang up knowing what the options are and what a next step could look like.
Calling commits you to nothing
The call is free and private, and it does not sign anyone up for anything. Your loved one does not even need to know you called.
We Accept Most Major Insurance Providers
Coverage varies by plan. Our admissions team verifies your exact benefits for free and explains your options honestly, without pressure.
Insurance logos are shown to help you identify your plan and are trademarks of their respective owners; they do not imply endorsement. Coverage varies by plan — verification is free and confidential.
Questions families ask us
What if they will not admit they have a problem?
This is the most common place families start. Your loved one does not need to be fully on board for you to call us. We will talk through where they are and give you practical ways to open the conversation without it turning into a fight.
Will I still be able to stay involved?
Yes. Because care is outpatient, your loved one stays part of daily life rather than disappearing for months. With their consent, we keep families informed and involved in a way that supports recovery.
How much is this going to cost us?
Most of our clients use insurance, and we accept most major plans. We will verify your loved one's coverage and explain what it covers before anything moves forward, so there are no surprises.
What if they refuse treatment right now?
That happens, and it does not mean the door is closed. We will help you prepare so that when they are ready, even if it is at 2am, you know exactly who to call and what to say.
My child is using fentanyl — do you offer medication-assisted treatment?
Yes. Our medical team treats opioid and fentanyl addiction with medication, including buprenorphine (Suboxone). Fentanyl is stronger than other opioids and needs a careful start, so we use fentanyl-aware protocols when beginning the medication. Learn more about our fentanyl treatment.
Can I call about my adult son or daughter without them knowing?
Yes, and many parents do. You do not have to give us names, and we will not contact your loved one. We will listen, explain the options, and help you plan what to say when the moment comes. The call is free, confidential, and commits you to nothing.
Is the first call really free and confidential?
Yes. The first conversation costs nothing and carries no obligation. What you share with our admissions team stays private.
